 | What is JGRotPro ? |
 |
 |
If you do not know the Jumpgate third-party utility JGRot, please do not
download and install the software package provided below. This is a beta test.
Only experienced users of JGRot should download and test JGRotPro. Thank you.

 | What is new in JGRotPro ? |
 |
 |
This version of JGRot (called JGRotPro) is quite different from the ones before.
There are new powerful features and - as if this wasn't enough - a new interface
for showing informations ingame.
JGRotPro is a "composition" of two programs:
- JGRot (data processing, features, creating ingame screen info)
- JGPD (= "JG proxy dll"; showing info ingame)
All the JGRot development is done by pilot Mogar, the JGPD is done by pilot
Miquant.

 | Is JGRotPro an utility from Netdevil? |
 |
 |
Nope. Not at all. JGRotPro is programmed by independant pilots (= players) in
order to have more fun while playing Jumpgate. JGRotPro is in no way tested,
approved, nor supported by Netdevil. JGRotPro is not a part of the Jumpgate
game software and in no way linked to the company mentioned above.
Note: In case you like to download JGRotPro (and/or the addon programs available)
and host it on your own site for download, you are welcome. A link to the myR site
would be appreciated as well.

 | Utilities for Testing |
 |
 |
DebugView is a nice debug utility to catch informations from a running application.
Go to sysinternals.com
and look for it at "utilities" sections (w98 or w2k). Download and install it.
It will be very helpful to get aware of e.g. memory leaks. JGRotPro (beta) will
create some output that can be viewed with DebugView.

 |
 | Download and Installation |
 |
 |
Download the "Final Beta Installation Package" and unzip it to a temporary directory.
Run the file "Install.exe". JGRotPro will be installed automatically.
You are not yet done ! In the newly created JGRotPro directory (usually below the
"/Programs" or "/Programme" folder), you will find the file "d3d8.dll".
It is important that this file is copied to your Jumpgate directory (where
jumpgate.exe is located). This must be done manually.
Although this file (d3d8.dll) is named exactly like a DirectX file, it isn’t one !
Do not, under no circumstances, copy this
file to your [windows]/system32 directory (thus overwriting the existing
system file with the same name, damaging your DirectX installation).
In case you experience errors or crashes on JGRotPro or Jumpgate startup, please
refer to the file "info.txt", located in the JGRotPro/dll" directory.
And now, have fun !

 | DOWNLOAD: JGRotPro Beta Installation Package |
 |
 |
It is all in there ! Program files (including installer), search patterns and AddOns.
Please note that the included help file is outdated and rather incomplete.
Check for updated versions of addons and other goodies at the AddOn Download page.
To install, download, unzip and install the *.msi file avaliable below.
Problems with JGRP keys ingame? A JG patch some time ago changed some of the keyboard assignments for the game.
The new assignments conflict with JGRPs default key mappings. You need to change some of the key mappings
in JGRP to use other keys.
